Atomic Swaps: Enabling Nano via ASMR

We recently posted about ASMR, our proof of concept implementation of atomic swaps for Meros, Nano, and Monero. At the time, despite enabling all three cryptocurrencies to achieve cross-chain interoperability, it only had firm support for Meros. We’re excited to now be able to announce that ASMR now officially supports Nano!

ASMR was co-authored by both Kayaba and PlasmaPower. With credit due to PlasmaPower, Nano support has been added to the codebase. Now, anyone can download ASMR, run it with the selection of BTC-NANO, and perform a swap between the two. This truly demonstrates the flexibility of the underlying protocol developed by h4sh3d, as a representative of Monero, and ASMR itself. We are extremely happy with being able to contribute to the space with it.

ASMR is still a Proof of Concept, yet the main reason we call it such is because it hasn’t been reviewed. ASMR supports selecting coins at runtime, performing swaps, and if the other party errors, it’s able to recover. That said, if your computer loses power/the internet goes out, it isn’t currently able to recover from that. There are features which can be made to increase the chance of recovery in those circumstances. Without this improved functionality and a review for its integrity, we will keep the label to clearly communicate its status.

If you’re interested in checking ASMR out, you can view it on GitHub. Discussion of it occurs on the Meros Discord, as Meros hosts the project. We welcome everyone to join and participate in opening new doors for quality cryptocurrencies.
